Printemps de Bourges

Printemps de Bourges

This year’s edition features Swiss acts Filewile, My Heart Belongs To Cecilia Winter and Eluveitie. Inaugurated in 1977 by Jean Christophe Dechico (director of the Maison de la Culture at the time), Alain Meilland (actor and singer) and current director Daniel Colling (music booking agent), the Printemps de Bourges continues despite the recurrent deficits that have had it on artificial life support many times.

With only a few well-known performers, the main reason to go to the PdB is its new talent showcase, which has seen many famous bands hold their first major concerts. The festival’s appeal is enhanced by inexpensive tickets (as well as a roster of free shows) and the fact that it is held in the city centre, with most events at walking distance from one another. There are also food & clothes stalls, and local bars will be hosting bands during the festival week as well.

For more on this year’s PdB, please check the official website, where there is also information on performances in restaurants and streetside happenings, plus the names of places to see and be seen. The complete programme is also now available in the city’s bars, restaurants and public places.
