Nicolas Fraissinet releases second album
Nicolas Fraissinet will present Les Métamorphoses, his second album, in Switzerland on 10 March (AkaMusic/dtb2music-AkaPublishing) and in France on 26 April (Universal). His telling lyrics and moving piano stylings have garnered the French-speaking Swiss native excellent reviews, the pinnacle thus far of a career that began with an unusual mixture of training in classic jazz and education in literary studies topped up with initial experience of the musician’s life in Paris. See also Courants d’Air (2008), les Pingouins Chanteurs, and Nicolas Fraissinet – 6 Titres (2005), self-produced.

Mama Rosin: reviews of UK tour
Just back from their UK tour, Geneva’s own zydeco madmen Mama Rosin have left behind some big smiles on the British Isles and scored a host of excellent reviews. “What’s not to like about this Swiss trio with an unquenchable love of the most obscure American roots music?”, writes Artdesk. Com, for example, while Keith Clark of the Bristol Evening Post says “you certainly don’t expect to hear a Swiss band playing this sort of music with such raw intensity and at a ferocious speed that would make most punk bands seem pedestrian.” Félicitations chers amis!

Navel return from German dates to great album reviews
Alternative rockers Navel are back from Germany to reap a crop of excellent notices for their second album. Intro dubs Neo Noir "impressive", Alternativenation predicts a brilliant future, given the quintet’s talent for bundling a wide range of inspirations, The Cosmic Penis (!) hails their ability to craft noise into tunes that stick in a listener’s head, and according to no less a source than Rolling Stone, the music on Navel’s new disc is “dark and melancholic…rock between throwback and repressed rage”…!
