Hosted by Swiss Music Export and the RFV, the Swiss Business Mixer will be hold at the Herz von Sankt Pauli, on Friday 24 September, 2pm to 5pm.

What is the Swiss Business Mixer? “Business is business is business”, they say. And meeting up with important people, swapping business cards and whinging about today’s state of the industry, is still as important as a tie to a banker. Ties won’t be appropriate for this event though, there is a slight chance they get spilt on. Since as a special bonus the hosts are offering genuine Swiss Raclette!

What’s that, Raclette? It’s THE Swiss national dish: melted Swiss cheese on top of potatoes and pickles or a slice of fresh bread. Highly addictive.

Who are those hosts? Swiss Music Export is a project funded by several Swiss cultural institutions in order to support Swiss pop acts abroad. One of the main purposes of the SME is the representation of Swiss pop music, focussing on European territories. The RFV – Rockförderverein der Region Basel – has been in charge of the supporting of pop music in Switzerland’s northwest since 1995 and is regarded as a role model for this kind of institution.

Is that it? Of course not. As a true highlight there will be showcases by two of Switzerland’s most promising exports: Boy and Oy.
