Swiss Music Export Relaunch

The organisation which has existed since 2001 plans with this relaunch to build an even stronger base from which to promote and develop on the interests and needs of Swiss musicians beyond the borders. The new manager of Swiss Music Export in Zurich is Jean Zuber (39 years old) who has also been on the SME Board of Directors. He is also a musician (in the band Schtärneföifi). He joins forces alongside SME Manager, Marc Ridet, in the Nyon office.
Behind SME there are six supporting organisations. Next to the four founders – Pro Helvetia, Migros-Kulturprozent, SUISA-Stiftung and Fondation CMA – are also now the Phonoproduzentenfonds of IFPI and the Interpretenstiftung (SIS) who are involved in the organisation of Swiss Music Export.

"With the relaunch of Swiss Music Export in 2008, we can demonstrate that the Swiss art-organizations as well as the music industries follow the same ideas to support the export situation. I totally believe that Swiss music has a chance in the international market." sais Swiss Music Export President Anita Fetz (Member of the Council of States).

Swiss Music Export will continue to focus on the European market (with priority given to the German and French speaking parts). Next to tour support, SME also will help selectively for the participation of international festivals. SME find it very important to develop a strong network both in and outside of Switzerland. There are many artists which has been supported from SME in the past, covering a wide range of genres such as Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop, Electronica have all benefited from their SME relationships – Aloan, Coal, K, Luciano, Lunik, Navel, Seven, Sinner DC, Sophie Hunger, Stress, The Delilahs, William White and a lot more.
