Swiss Music Rendez-vous at La Maroquinerie 17th September, 2007

Lole & William White at Cafe Litteraire at 7.00pm
Lole – She is the new Swiss folk sensation, tainted with sweet jazzy colours. This name will not stay unknown for long , nor her tender voice and sweet folk music style either. Her new album Sugary and dry is an album from a deep artist who composes and writes with talent.
William White – Now a solo artist and a phenomenen of the Swiss music scene, William White builds a musical bridge between his Barbados origins and his current home city of Zurich. His new album Undone has been written, composed, interpreted and produced by himself. This totally homemade situation has been a big success with more than 10,000 copies of the album sold to date. William White onstage has two different sides, with a band of eight musicians or an intense solo performance, as in his supporting act for Ben Harper. He is a whole artist who blends Caribean rythems with the sounds of funk and jazz.
Navel, Sophie Hunger and The Young Gods Play Acoustic at Le Maroquinerie Grande Salle , 8.30pm.
Navel – They rock, they roll , they are Navel – the new young rock group building a huge buzz across Europe.
The hole where we come from is Switzerland – we having nothing else to do there but rock. We don’t want to be played on radio, we don’t like our photos being taken, we hate perfection, we prefer to sleep on stage and we don’t plan on becoming old – they have the attitude and their live sets prove they have the music.
Sophie Hunger – her musical career seems like a dream come true – a year ago a total she was a total unknown she has since shared a stage with Stephan Eicher and The Young Gods. Her fist album Sketches and sea is an immediate success that skillfully layers many different musical directions..songwriting, soulful atmospheres, piano ballads or eerie songs. Sophie Hunger is truly captivating and is a star waiting in the shadows.
The Young Gods Play Acoustic – The Young Gods are as fearless as ever. By creating a new musical grammer that takes from rock, industrical sounds, classical, baroque, ambinet and electronica – the Swiss band is still, twenty-two years after they started, extremely astute. Their brilliant new album Super ready/Fragmente combines powerful and subtle moods in an amazing way, confirming that the Young Gods are still in tune, if not ahead, of their time. This concert will feature a never been seen before acoustic set.
