Knackeboul on tour with Herbert Grönemeyer / Me + Marie guest at Grönemeyer show in Munich

Fresh from his memorable appearance at the opening ceremony of the longest tunnel in the world, the St. Gotthard, the rapper Knackeboul will embark on a tour of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, supporting one of the very biggest acts of the German-speaking rock world, Herbert Grönemeyer.

Knackeboul has won many awards for his unique mixture of rap, delivered in his charming Bernese German dialect, and melodically diverse beats and melodies. Well-known in Switzerland as a radio and television presenter, he recently he reached the Swiss top ten for the third time in a row with his latest album, “Knacktracks”, his seventh.

To be selected as the support act for nine legs of Herbert Grönemeyer’s latest stadium tour is quite a coup. The actor and singer/songwriter has been one of the most successful artists in the GSA-countries over the past three decades. Many of his fourteen albums have passed the one million sales mark, culminating in “Mensch” (2002) with more than 3’700’000 copies.

Me + Marie were part of the support programme at Herbert Grönemeyer’s concert on 5 June in Munich. The trio consisting of Maria Moling (aka Maria de Val of the string-driven Southern Tyrolian Ladin-chanson outfit Ganes), Roland Scandella (aka Roland Vögtli from the Grisons-based rock band Nau), and guitarist (Tom Wörndl) recently released their well-received calm and confident debut album “One Eyed Love” on the Munich-based Blankomusik label.
