Indie Album of the Year 2015: Puts Marie „Masoch I & II“

Puts Marie, the much travelled and multi-faceted rock band from Biel, are the winners of the inaugural “IndieSuisse Album of the Year Award”. The five-piece were awarded the prize for their latest album, “Masoch I & II”. The announcement was made on 17 December and the band will be handed their trophy as well as a cheque for SFR 10’000 on 16 April during the m4music Festival in Zurich. Before then, throughout January, Puts Marie are on tour in Switzerland and Germany.

IndieSuisse, the association of independent Swiss music labels and producers, was founded in 2014 to represent the interests of the independent Swiss music sector on a national and international level. At present, IndieSuisse has 47 members and is growing fast. Almost immediately after its launch, the organisation joined IMPALA (Independent Music Companies Association).

For the Indie Album of the Year award, the members of IndieSuisse nominated two albums each. A jury consisting of seven representatives from the various corners of the Swiss music industry – including Swiss Music Export’s Jean Zuber – chose the winners from the resulting list of fifteen nominated albums. The winning album “Masoch 1 & 2” will automatically be entered in IMPALA’s European Independent Album of the Year Award.
