Swiss artists at CMJ Music Marathon,  New York, 13 – 17 October 2015

CMJ.com is a weekly online music business report which started as the conventional bi-weekly publication College Media Journal in 1978. Their annual festival of new music, the CMJ Music Marathon, is now in its 35th year. The daytime program consists of a vast number of roundtable discussions, workshops, keynote speeches, etc. The evenings offer a unique opportunity to discover new artist from all over the world in a vast number of showcases and concerts.

Four acts from Switzerland are taking part in this year’s edition of the CMJ Music Marathon. All are playing on the same night at the same venue, thus serving up a proper Swiss night in the Big Apple.

20:00 – 20:30     Pascal Gamboni
Pascal Gamboni is a guitarist and singer/songwriter from the canton of Grisons in the Eastern part of Switzerland. He spent ten years learning his craft in the UK with bands in Bristol and London.

20:45 – 21:15     Death by Chocolate
With their stylish old-skool Hammond, this five-piece from Biel offer up classic rock with a superior sense of dynamics and melody.

21:30 – 22:00     Hathors
Dark, grungy post-Seattle rock from the widely travelled trio from Winterthur.

22:15 – 22:45     The Chikitas
The guitar/drums/vocals duo from Geneva play a high-octane mixture of punk rock with a hefty dose of wit and a fine ear from trashy fun and catchy choruses.
