BOY are back in town!

BOY – the duo of Valeska Steiner and Sonja Glass – have crashed into the official German charts at number three with their long-awaited second album, “We Were Here”! Their hook-laden debut album “Mutual Friends”, even though it had stayed in the German top 100 for a remarkable thirty-odd weeks, only ever made it to number nine. The duo are celebrating the release of “We Were Here” with not one, but two tours of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Nearly four years have passed since „Mutual Friends“ took the German and Swiss charts by storm. A lot has happened to BOY since then. Mostly, they have been travelling, taking their serenely melancholy music into all corners of the world.

“We Were Here” is released worldwide by Grönland Records. In Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Japan the album appeared towards the end of August 2015; USA and Canada will follow on 18 September, and the rest of Europe on 16 October. The songs of „We Were Here“ are a reflection of the duo’s mind-expanding experiences in the course of their travels. Moving on from their folky beginnings, „We Were Here“ boasts a much fuller production which, far from making the music blander or shinier, only serves to emphasise the mysterious qualities of their finely-crafted songs.

In order to support the album release, and accompanied by their full band, BOY will be embarking on two tours this autumn. First, in order to fine-tune their new set, they will be undertaking a seven-date club tour of Germany and Switzerland in September. However, all seven dates are already sold out.  Starting at the end of October and continuing throughout November, the band will be playing another series of dates in much bigger venues in Germany, Switzerland as well as Austria. Incredibly, four of the originally planned 21 dates – those in Düsseldorf, Zurich, Frankfurt and Hamburg – were again sold-out within days, necessitating the addition of several extra shows.
