Death by Chocolate on a high

Two years after their much admired showcase at the Musexpo in Los Angeles, and three months after their nomination as a “Best Live Act” at the Swiss Music Awards, rock quintet Death by Chocolate from Biel have won the Global Rock Summit 2015 “Search for the Next Band to Break” competition. Or, as the A&R Worldwide Newsletter has it: “Swiss band catches rock industry leaders’ attention at Los Angeles’ Global Rock Summit”.

The win secures the band a record deal with American rock label T-Boy, founded by veteran manager Andy Gould. Their label mates will be the likes of Rob Zombie, Megadeth and P.O.D. These names might be a little misleading, however:  Death by Chocolate are not mascara-covered spandex-clad cartoon rockers. Rather, they are a dynamic guitar band whose musical moods range from folky acoustic melancholy to powerful, driving and melodic indie rock.
