Supported by Pro Helvetia and Swiss Music Export, Swiss Vibes is a popular blog dedicated to the promotion of Swiss music. Starting in 2009, and in collaboration with the magazine Vibrations, Swiss Vibes has released three compilation albums featuring the latest and best in Swiss music. In June, Swiss Vibes will be taking to the stage, presenting six bands live on three evenings at the Centre culturel suisse Paris. The six were chosen especially to demonstrate the wide stylistic range of music made in Switzerland today.

Puts Marie and Evelinn Trouble
Tuesday, 2 June 2015 – 20:00
After a lengthy break allowing the individual members to pursue solo projects in various parts of the world, psychedelic chanson rockers Puts Marie from Biel returned to the fray last year with their EP “Masoch”. Having already wowed audiences at Transmusicales de Rennes and at Eurosonic, the band are gigging incessantly throughout 2015 to prepare the world for their new album. It will be released in September on the French Yotanka label.

Evelinn Trouble, the fiercely independent and original guitarist, singer and songwriter from Zurich who is now based in London, will also be presenting songs from a new album. “Arrowhead” was recorded in a studio in Bristol run by Geoff Barrow (Portishead). A release date has not yet been confirmed. Evelinn will be performing in her usual trio formation with Domi Chansorn (drums) and Flo Götte (bass).

Egopusher and Larytta
Wednesday, 3 June 2015 – 20:00
Egopusher is a new project launched by renowned Jazz violinist Tobias Preisig from Zurich. His partner in crime is the drummer Alessandro Giannelli. Together, they serve up an intense brew of instrumental and experimental rock with a liberal dose of free improvised jazz mixed in. Here, Preisig shows a very different side to his more familiar lyrical style of jazz. Before appearing at the Swiss Vibes festival, Egopusher will be guesting on André Manoukian’s “partons en live” show on Radio Inter  (29. Mai).

Formed in 2004 in Lausanne, Larytta are purveyors of synth-pop not a million miles away from Jamie Lidell, Phoenix or Hot Chip. Since March, their second album “Jura” is being distributed via the well-established French independent company La Baleine.

PommelHORSE and Orioxy
Thursday, 4 June 2015 – 20:00
It wouldn’t be quite right to describe the Bernese quintet PommelHORSE as a jazz group. Too diverse are their influences. With a line-up including clarinet, Rhodes piano and saxophone, their two albums contain a tight, melodic and dynamic blend of instrumental music with hints of British 70s bands like Henry Cow, Krautrock reminiscent of Release Music Orchestra, and even art rock in the tradition of Roxy Music.

Led by singer Yael Miller and harpist Julie Campiche, and accompanied by drums and upright bass, Orioxy from Geneva play a quietly dramatic mélange of bluesy chanson with all sorts of other elements thrown in – a hint of electronica, for instance, and touches of jazz and classical chamber music. Their third album “Lost Children” was released to great acclaim, especially in France and Germany, in March. It is distributed via La Baleine.
