Duck Duck Grey Duck album and tour

They’re yet another trio from Geneva, and they’ve definitely been touched by the spirit of the early Beefheart (with a friendly nod from Quicksilver Messenger Service). Formed not so long ago by Nelson Schaer (Trionyx, Erika Stucky, ‘NK), Robin Girod (Mama Rosin) and Pierre-Henri Beyrière, the band’s reputation as a fiery live act has quickly spread (proof, if proof is needed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwwQr-x6BLY&spfreload=10).

Now, Duck Duck Grey Duck (a children’s chasing game, in case anyone’s wondering) have recorded an album. It will be released by the French label Casbah Records on February 1st. Casbah who have in the past worked with Reverend Beat-Man, are well connected in the world of underground blues – global distribution is assured for Duck Duck Grey Duck’s debut album. Casbah is also involved with a French indie radio network, organizes festivals and concerts and keeps a blog. No wonder the band is excited about their prospects.

To promote the album, Duck Duck Grey Duck are taking part in the „Les Nuits de l’Alligator“ tour which begins on 17 February in Annecy and ends on 10 March. Amongst the other bands appearing at the travelling festival are Heavy Trash, Hayseed Dixie, Black Strobe, Hell’s Kitchen and Two Gallants. Afterwards, Duck Duck Grey Duck will play three more shows in France, followed by a home-coming gig in Geneva.
