Kadebostany & Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp @ Printemps de Bourges

L’Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp will be representing the Swiss music scene at this year’s Les Inouïs Printemps de Bourges Crédit Mutuel festival. First conceived in 1976 as a festival to celebrate and support all forms of song, this year’s edition will be taking place from 22 April – 27 April.

Situated at the heart of France, for almost one whole week the city centre of Bourges is transformed into one big musical stage. The scheduled music program starts early in the afternoon and takes place in nine different venues, with a programme offering a rich variety of newcomers as well as established artists. Additionally, more than twenty bars in the centre of town offer live music from noon to midnight.
Swiss Music Export’s long association with Printemps de Bourges and Réseau Printemps dates back as far as 2004. Ever since then, SME has supported concerts of Swiss artists at this festival and organised networking events to facilitate the contact between Swiss, French and other European music business professionals. Swiss Music Export will be supporting the Swiss acts appearing at the festival by facilitating networking opportunities and promoting their shows. To this end, once again SME will be organising a Swiss aperitif during „Le Pot des Antennes“.
The intriguingly named Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamps will be appearing on Saturday under the „Inouis du Printemps de Bourges“ banner on the „chanson/world“ afternoon on Saturday, 26 April at 12.30h. In time for the festival, on 31 March, the six-piece will be releasing their third album, „Rotorotor“. With a list of instruments that includes violin, toys, marimba, xalam, trombone and push bells, the band once again serve up a heady and raucous blend of punk, pop, jazz and (almost) all other music styles of the world. „Rotorotor“ is released jointly by Red Wig and Moi J’Connais Records. To support the release, the band will be undertaking a 19-date tour in April and May, taking in Switzerland, France, Germany and Belgium.

The band is also scheduled to appear on several French radio and television shows, including FIP (a special Sélection for the month of May), France Inter twice („On va tous y passer“, live on 3 April, and „Summertime“ live performance and interview on 20 April), France Culture („Rendez-Vous“, live on 3 April), and RFI (Musique du Monde“, live recording on 23 April).

Also on the bill at the Printemps de Bourges Festival are Kadebostany. They will be performing on Saturday night, 26 April. The six musicians that make up this motley of musical pirates hail from all over Europe, and their range influences is accordingly diverse. Starting off with a line-up that included violin, cello, piano, accordion, horns, guitar, banjo and using plenty of laptop-generated beats, they have since evolved into of the most exciting live bands in Switzerland. Fronted by sultry singer/rapper Amina, the band play the pop music of their imaginary home country of Kadebostan, a dynamic blend of beat-driven electronica, Balkan brass, an occasional guitar string, and the mood of a late night Parisian club, circa 1930. Served up with plenty of multi-media extras. Their last album, „Pop Collection“, was released in October 2013. The band will be touring Austria, Germany and France in April.
